Jeffrey Epstein had properties in Switzerland? The government's response is unclear

The Swiss Federal Council (Bundesrat) is unable to determine whether Jeffrey Epstein owned real estate in Switzerland. The body spoke on this issue on Wednesday as part of a response to a parliamentary interpellation submitted after the Swiss connections of an American sex offender were revealed.

The Swiss thread of the Epstein scandal? The government avoids a clear answer

The government pledges that “has no information regarding possible purchases of real estate by Jeffrey Epstein in Switzerland.” At the same time, however, he points out that “cannot rule outthat such purchases took place.

The Federal Council also argues that not all real estate purchases by foreigners reach the cantonal licensing authorities. Thus, the authority transfers responsibility to the cantons (territorial administrative units of Switzerland).

The Bundesrat also avoids answering several other questions asked by MP Benoit Gaillard back in March. Doubts arose after U.S. authorities released several million pages of files regarding Epstein's criminal activities. According to many media, this millionaire was supposed to finance the studies of several young women in Switzerland and maintain contacts with great figures from the financial world.
