Nicolae Badea, 77 years old, wanted to clarify the situations involving his name and that of ACS FC Dinamo, the situation of the logo with two dogs and the interruption of the work at the stadium in Ștefan cel Mare.
Dinamo has been marked since the beginning of the week by the negative reactions received by the club's management after the announcement of the club's new logo. The stylized D slated to replace the two red dogs from July 2026 is being angrily rejected by supporters, who are announcing protest moves.
Moreover, the leaders of Dinamo's galleries sent an ultimatum to the president Andrei Nicolescu to abandon the change plan.
Gazeta Sporturilor got in touch with Nicolae Badea, the former president of the group from Ștefan cel Mare. This and in the conditions in which there were discussions, in the public space, in the online one, that the current management would have been pressured to give up the coat of arms with the two dogs, which is owned by ACS FC Dinamo, Nicolae Badea's group.
At the same time, it was written that Dinamo 1948 (the Superliga team) must change its logo on the sports equipment, in terms of the prospect of participating in European cups, as UEFA requires a club to have its own coat of arms in order to obtain a sports license.
Nicolae Badea reacted clearly: “I did not impose any restrictions, of any kind”
– Mr. Badea, what do you think about the new logo of the Dinamo 1948 club?
– I have no opinion!
– Okay. Did you request something in particular or did you forbid the club from using the current logo with the two red dogs?
– I didn't ask anything from Dinamo. Absolutely nothing! I haven't said anything about Dinamo for 3 years, I just follow Dinamo's matches. And I occasionally spoke with Andrei Nicolescu. That's it. We have not imposed any restrictions, any pecuniary or other conditions. The club can use that logo without any problem from my side.. It is internationally registered, everything is clear. Aaa, when there was that logo usage issue, it was strictly merchandising related. Not of a different nature, sporty. Sports equipment can be used by statute, as it was stipulated from the very beginning in the transactions made then in Ionuț Negoiță.

– At the same time, the idea spread in the public space that because of the boxes in the official tribune of the stadium in Ștefan cel Mare, owned by ACS FC Dinamo, your club, the work on the new arena was partially blocked. Can you comment?
– I, personally, have no say in the demolition process. The submission of documents was delayed for two years, for example, was it my fault or ACS FC Dinamo?! I find it cheap motivation, those who find such things or accuse. You go to court if you feel like someone is screwing you, OK?. They went to court in 2017, with a lie as big as the house of Minister Carmen Dan, and they evicted FC Dinamo from the stadium. It was a “creation” of those in the Ministry of the Interior at that time.
To answer you, I did not request anything at all. Neither from Dinamo, nor with the stadium. And already it seems to me that it is a bad quality folklore, a leitmotif that some people use when they are in a crowd.

– Do you still watch Dinamo's matches?
– I'm watching TV. At the stadium, no. I have gone out to matches with the children, as was the case recently at the semi-final in Madrid with Arsenal. My kids, on the other hand, go to the games and are extremely passionate. Iordan, Rareș and Olivia are caught up in football. Given that there are many dynamists around me, they also caught, but on their own initiative, this microbe of dynamism. They are dedicated fans, with colors, they are interested in how they play, who plays.
– Wasn't there an attempt to attract you, again, to Dinamo, even as a sponsor?
– They understood that I am not interested… The children know clearly, but we watch football together. They go to matches in Bucharest, they have also been to Cluj, Craiova, Constanța, they are downright passionate. They liked Penedo, the former goalkeeper of Dinamo, very much.
My children have been very attached to Dinamo for many years. Sometimes, I ask for the memory stick with Dinamo's older matches: “Wow, how Claudiu Niculescu hits the ball…”, “Wow, how Dănciulescu stood out…”, “How Bratu could run…”
