Weekend of adrenaline in Bucharest! » Sport Arena Streetball transforms the largest park in Sector 6

And this summer, Bucharest scores decisively on the map of important competitions. The official 3×3 basketball competition will continue to set the pace of the festival in Drumul Taberei Park.

“Born from the passion for 3×3 basketball, the Sport Arena Streetball series of events continues its evolution into a larger format: an urban sports festival, open to both those who come for the competition and those who want an active weekend outdoors.” announce the organizers.

More sports, more fun and relaxation areas and more ways to spend a weekend full of outdoor activities with experiences dedicated to the whole family. Sport Arena Streetball will take place on the weekend of May 8-10, and the sports fields are already set up in Drumul Taberei Park and can be used for free by the community.

Basketball acrobats, cheerleaders and dance troupes

In addition to the high-stakes matches, the acrobatic basketball players from the Slovenian band Dunking Devils, with performances all over the globe, are coming to Bucharest.

And they promise an explosive mix of basketball, adrenaline and entertainment. The show between the matches will be completed by artists of the Bucharest Metropolitan Circus, cheerleaders and dance groups.

Access to the festival and all activities dedicated to the public is free, and participation in the official 3×3 basketball competition is by registration, with an entry fee.

Sport Arena Streetball remains built around 3×3 basketball, which is our DNA, but in 2026 we want to take the experience even further. We want our events to be places where people come for the sport, but stay for the atmosphere, the community and the joy of spending time outdoors with friends and family

Kendama show on May 9

The Sport Arena Streetball Festival will host a spectacular event dedicated to kendama: “Kendama Romania Bucharest – Showdown”.

“The public will have the opportunity to discover kendama at the highest level with international guests and elite athletes of the world stage”announce the organizers.

According to them, Miguel De La Torre, one of the most appreciated and awarded American kendama players, Edwin Tickner, ranked 6th in the official world ranking and considered one of the most influential personalities in the international community, as well as some of the best performers from Romania, such as Andrei Goia, Cojo, Reny or Braso, will be present.

“The event is designed as an experience for the whole family and those present will be able to discover and participate in sports activities, athletic challenges for children and adults, interactive gaming and technology areas, relaxation spaces and will be able to enjoy non-stop music”the organizers say.
