The supervisory board of Grupa Azoty appointed Jacek Podgórski to the management board and entrusted him with the function of vice-president of the company, the Group announced in a statement on Monday.

“At today's meeting, the Supervisory Board of Grupa Azoty SA appointed, as of May 5, 2026, Mr. Jacek Podgórski to the Company's Management Board as Vice-President of the Management Board of the 13th term,” the company said.

She added that from Tuesday, the group's management board will consist of five members: Marcin Celejewski (president), Artur Chołoda (vice-president), Małgorzata Królak (vice-president), Jacek Podgórski (vice-president) and Artur Babicz (member of the management board).

The group's announcement stated that Podgórski is a manager with many years of experience working “at the highest levels of management” in financial institutions and manufacturing enterprises. He carried out complex restructuring processes in the organizational and financial areas and was responsible for obtaining sources of equity and debt financing.

From 1994 to 2004, Podgórski worked in the banking sector, among others. at Bank Pekao. In the years 2006-2018 he was associated with the Orlen Group. In the years 2007–2014 he was vice-president for finance at Basell Orlen Polyolefins, and between 2006 and 2007 at Orlen Asfalt. In turn, in the years 2014–2018, he served as the president of Anwil SA. He was also the president of Elektrobudowa SA (2019–2020) and Polska Spółka Gazownictwa (2024–2025). In the years 2018-2025, he was a member of the supervisory boards of several companies.

Podgórski completed master's studies at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Łódź and postgraduate studies in management at the University of Warsaw.

On Thursday, Mirosław Ptasiński resigned from the position of vice-president and from his seat on the management board of Grupa Azoty. He held this position since December 2025. Ptasiński also left the supervisory board of Grupa Azoty Zakłady Chemiczne “Police” on the same day.

At the beginning of March this year. The supervisory board of Grupa Azoty appointed a new management board, headed by Marcin Celejewski. The group announced then that the new management was beginning the stage of “deep restructuring of the Azoty Group (…) focused on rebuilding financial stability, maximizing the efficiency of industrial assets and focusing its operations on segments with the highest growth potential.”

Grupa Azoty is a joint-stock company in which the State Treasury owns 33%. shares. It is the second largest producer of nitrogen and compound fertilizers in the EU. It is the only melamine producer in Poland. It also produces products such as polyamide, OXO alcohols, plasticizers and titanium white. In 2025, the group recorded a net loss of over PLN 5.1 billion compared to PLN 1.1 billion a year earlier. At the same time, the group generated a positive EBITDA result of PLN 322.7 million, compared to a negative one a year earlier of PLN 330 million. (PAP)
