Krasnoyarsk residents were reminded how to wash their hands properly

May 5 is World Hand Hygiene Day. In honor of this date, Rospotrebnadzor specialists reminded Krasnoyarsk residents of a simple but effective way to protect themselves from infections.
According to the agency, regular and proper hand washing helps to significantly reduce the risk of disease: the likelihood of respiratory infections decreases by 44%, and intestinal infections by 47%.
Experts advise washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, thoroughly lathering your palms, fingers, the area between them and the area around your nails. After this, the soap must be completely rinsed off with warm water.
Rospotrebnadzor also recommends storing bar soap in a soap dish with holes so that it dries faster and does not sit in water.
In public places, it is better to use a paper towel after washing your hands to avoid touching faucets and door handles.
If there is no access to water and soap, experts advise using antiseptics with an alcohol content of at least 60%.
“Remember, your health is in your hands,” the department reminded.
