It is not yet known when exactly Trump will fly the highly questionable gift from Qatar for the first time. When the Qatari royal family purchased a luxury jet for their private fleet more than a decade ago, the Boeing 747 was finished with lavish detailing befitting one of the world's wealthiest families.
With the jumbo jet expected to arrive for President Trump this summer, officials say the plane's luxurious interior will remain largely unchanged. The US Air Force emphasizes that USD 400 million was intended for safety-related modifications, not aesthetic values. However, the machine from Qatar is only a temporary solution.

The United States Air Force admits that the previously ordered presidential plane, the Boeing VC-25B, will probably be delivered much later than planned. It is even possible that Trump will no longer be president by then. Therefore, a temporary solution is “absolutely necessary” as more presidential machines are stuck in service.
One thing is certain: Donald Trump has been seeking a new plane for a long time. Apparently, at an early stage of his government activity, Elon Musk was involved in working to ensure that Trump received a new presidential machine as soon as possible.

A “bridge program” has been intensively implemented since 2025, and the gift from Qatar was accepted – but experts warned: owning a luxury jet is one thing, adapting it to the president's requirements is a completely different matter. In parallel, Boeing is to accelerate production of the VC-25B.
