“The same taste of childhood.” Classic recipe for divine chocolate sausage

The author of the Ukrainian culinary YouTube blog Liliya Tsvit told how to prepare chocolate sausages using a classic recipe with the same taste as in childhood.

Zwit noted that this recipe is truly nostalgic. Sausages are prepared very simply, and the result is always pleasing.

Ingredients:

  • 80 g butter;
  • 70 ml milk;
  • 3 tbsp. l. Sahara;
  • 3 tbsp. l. cocoa;
  • 100 g milk chocolate;
  • 250 g cookies;
  • powdered sugar

Step-by-step preparation:

  1. In a saucepan, combine butter, milk, sugar, cocoa and chocolate. Place over low heat and, stirring constantly, bring the mixture to a boil. After this, remove from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
  2. In a large bowl, crush the cookies with your hands. Do not crumble it into dust – leave rather large pieces, since they are the ones who create that very “marble” texture on the cut. Add chopped roasted walnuts to the cookies and stir.
  3. Pour the cooled chocolate mixture into the bowl with the cookies and nuts and mix everything thoroughly until smooth.
  4. Divide the mass into two parts. Place the first part on cling film and form a neat sausage. Wrap the edges of the film very tightly and compact the mass with rolling movements – this way the sausage will be smooth and dense, without voids. Repeat the same with the second part.
  5. Leave the sausages in the refrigerator for at least four hours so that they harden and “set” well.
  6. Remove the frozen sausage, remove the cling film and roll generously in powdered sugar.
