On October 15, a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the Interregional stage of the VI All-Russian Prize “Pride of the Nation” took place in Krasnoyarsk. Awards were received by 21 laureates from the Siberian Federal District, who presented the best projects in the field of preserving ethnocultural diversity and strengthening interethnic harmony.

“Pride of the Nation” is the flagship project of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia, implemented with the support of the Council on Interethnic Relations under the President of the Russian Federation. In 2025, in the sixth year of its existence, the competition was held for the first time in the format of district stages.

Krasnoyarsk was chosen as the site for the entire Siberian Federal District. The expert commission received 99 applications from all over Siberia, of which 59 were from residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

“Representatives of all Siberian regions came here, who are making serious efforts, on the one hand, to preserve the identity of the peoples inhabiting Siberia, and on the other, to strengthen the unity of our peoples. Siberia is a kind of melting pot; many nationalities live in our region, so it is very important for us to maintain unity and thank those people who do not allow conflicts on ethnic grounds,” said First Deputy Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Sergei Ponomarenko.

The winners were determined in seven main categories, covering such areas as cultural development, popularization of native languages, information work and leadership within the framework of national cultural associations.

“The main goal of the award is to identify the best practices in the field of state national policy for the preservation of the languages and culture of the peoples of Russia. Our country is home to 194 nationalities and more than 270 languages, and our most important task is to preserve them. The award is aimed at those people who are engaged in this activity, as well as at leaders of national and cultural associations,” said Natalya Altner, Deputy General Director of the NGO “Assembly of the Peoples of Russia”.
