In Krasnoyarsk on May 9, Saturday, commemorative and festive events dedicated to Victory Day will be held. The program will begin in the morning with a flag-raising ceremony and end with an evening concert and fireworks over the Yenisei.

At 9:00 on the square in front of the city administration, a copy of the Victory Banner, which was hoisted over the Reichstag in 1945, will be raised. After this, the main commemorative events will continue at the Victory Memorial. At 10:00 there will be a rally and a flower-laying ceremony.

One of the central events of the day will be the ceremonial passage of columns on the avenue named after the newspaper “Krasnoyarsk Worker”. It will start at 12:00 near the walls of Krasmash. Before this, the audience will be shown a theatrical prologue dedicated to Victory Day. After the columns pass, a parade of equipment will take place. It will be opened by the legendary T-34 tank.

A special event this year will be the “Fire of Memory” campaign. A piece of the Eternal Flame from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow will be delivered to Krasnoyarsk. At 13:30, the “Immortal Regiment” campaign starts at the “Krasnoyarsk – City of Labor Valor” memorial. Participants will be able to walk with portraits of relatives who fought at the front, worked in the rear and survived the years of the Great Patriotic War.

In the evening, the festive program will move to Peace Square. A big concert will start there at 20:00. Victory Day will end at 22:00 with fireworks. It will be launched on two embankments at once – opposite the Yenisei Lights hotel on the left bank and the Krasnoyarye shopping center on the right bank.
