He returned to the field after a year and was the only footballer applauded in Rapid

Borisav Burmaz (25 years old), the player from Rapid, returned to the field after a year of absence due to an injury in the railway derby with CFR Cluj, in stage #7 of the Superliga play-off.

Despite the oppressive atmosphere in Giulești, with swearing at the management and the players, Borisav Burmaz was received with applause by the people of Giulești when he entered the field, in the 67th minute of the game with CFR Cluj.

Borisav Burmaz, the only player cheered on Giulesti at Rapid – CFR Cluj: the fans chanted his name upon his return after a year

Borisav Burmaz was injured in Rapid's summer camp. He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury. The injury happened in the “friendly” lost by Rapid with Vardar Skopje, score 0-1. Burmaz had been brought on at the start of the second half. The Serbian returned to training at the end of March, and since then he has been kept on the bench by Costel Gâlcă.

This season Borisav Burmaz had not caught a single minute. Burmaz was introduced in the 67th minute of the game instead of Daniel Paraschiv, who was out due to muscle problems. The Serbian was applauded at the open stage by the fans in the stands, who also shouted his name. Until that moment, the people present in Giulesti cursed Marian Aioani and Alexandru Dobre, but also the leadership.

Borisav Burmaz was brought in in the winter of 2024 from Vozdovac. 400,000 euros were paid by the people of Giulești at that time. Since then, Burmaz has played 57 matches, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists. Borisav Burmaz played junior at Red Star Belgrade and has one game with the Serbian senior team. He also played at Graficar, Radnicki 1923 and Vozdovac. It is quoted by specialized websites at 700,000 euros.
