In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a criminal investigation has been completed against a 54-year-old resident of Yekaterinburg, accused of raping a minor resident of Norilsk.
The crime was committed on October 13, 1990, when the defendant was 19 years old. According to investigators, he met a 14-year-old girl at a school disco in the city of Talnakh, and then suggested they go for a walk, to which she agreed.
“During a walk near his place of residence, the attacker, using physical force, pushed the victim into the entrance, and then forced her to go up to the apartment. There, under the threat of violence, he committed a violent sexual act against a minor,” the Investigative Committee said.

A criminal case was opened on this fact, but, despite the complex of investigative actions and operational search measures carried out, it was not possible to establish the whereabouts of the attacker. Fearing criminal prosecution, he left Norilsk immediately after committing the crime and never returned to the city. The preliminary investigation was suspended, and in April 2026, law enforcement officers found the suspect in Yekaterinburg, detained him and took him to Norilsk.
“At the moment, the investigation has collected a sufficient evidence base, and therefore the criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor’s office to resolve the issue of approving the indictment and subsequently sending it to court for consideration on the merits,” the Investigative Committee reported.
