The basketball team of Stela Bucharest was saved from relegation! Victory by score on the ground of Corona Brașov

The first phase of the LNBM playout pitted CSA Steaua Bucharest and CSM Corona Brașov, neighbors in the regular season, against each other. The Red-Blues won both their home games and moved to the center of the country with a consistent advantage: 2-0.

CSA Steaua Bucharest prevailed 3-1 in the series with CSM Corona Brașov

The group coached by Andrei Mandache also had the third game in hand, but Corona had a burst of pride, sent the game into overtime and prevailed 88-85. In the 4th duel of the series, Steaua did not offer this chance to the opponent.

The team from the Capital dominated the game and broke free in the second half, managing to win 97-77. Star leaders were Juwan Gray (21 points, 7 rebounds), Kenny Dye (17 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists) and Lorenzo Diaconescu (16 points).

On the other side, Munis Tutu (15 points), Chrunn Wlliamson (13 points) and 3 other players with 10 points each stood out: Dimitrije Nikolic, Tyrell Johnson and Trendon Hankerson.

Thanks to this result, the overall score became 3-1, and Steaua Bucharest was saved from relegation, going to play for places 9-12 in the National League. The other three teams that are sure to stay in the LNBM next season are SCM Timișoara, CS Vâlcea 1924 and CSM Petrolul Ploiești.

In the second round, CSA Steaua Bucuresti will face SCM Timișoara, while CS Vâlcea 1924 will play against CSM Petrolul Ploiești. These 4 teams are fighting for the 9th place in the 2025-2026 LNBM season.

Instead, to avoid relegation, CSM Târgu Mureș has to overcome CSM Galati, while CSM Corona Brașov has to beat CSM Târgu Jiu.
