A 41-year-old driver ran over a 5-year-old boy in the village Yastrebovo Achinsk district of Krasnoyarsk region.

As the police said, the accident occurred the night before on Sovetskaya Street: a motorist in a Toyota Corona Premio drove into oncoming traffic, where he hit a child who, accompanied by his mother, was riding a scooter along the edge of the roadway.

As a result of the incident, the boy suffered a leg injury and was hospitalized.

It was established that the driver was drunk – during an on-site examination, the breathalyzer showed 1.11 mg/l. The man was detained and a criminal case was opened against him under Part 2 of Art. 264 CC (Violation of traffic rules resulting in negligence causing serious harm to health) and three administrative protocols were drawn up: for driving while intoxicated (Part 1 of Article 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), driving a vehicle in the presence of malfunctions or conditions under which operation is prohibited (Part 1 of Article 12.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) and for failure to fulfill the duties prescribed by the traffic rules in connection with an accident (Part 1 of Article 12.27 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).

“Also, a protocol was drawn up under Art. 5.35 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Improper performance of parental responsibilities),” said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
