Former footballer Lucian Goian, 43 years old, champion of Romania in 2007 with Dinamo, settled in Spain and wrote a text-manifesto today, May 1, on the topic of sports infrastructure.
Former central defender for teams such as Dinamo, Ceahlăul, Astra and CFR Cluj, Lucian Goian moved with his family to Alicante, Spain, which is why put up for sale the villa he owns in Cluj-Napoca.
Today, on Labor Day, Goian made a comparison between the way sports facilities are managed in Romania and in Spain, at least in the city where he settled, Alicante.
Lucian Goian, manifesto message: “These Spaniards are “stupid”… We're still surprised that we don't have football!”
He posted some images of a base that had its gates open, free for anyone to play football, and wrote on social media:
“'Stupid' these Spaniards… May 1, Labor Day. They didn't find a specialist company to make a big iron gate, to close the access to the field… Leave the children like that, free, to play on the field…
Let's not say how many parking spaces could be made on the site of this field… Then we wonder that we don't have football in Romania. Well done, Spain!”.
Lucian Goian: “We feel very good in Alicante”
Goian and his wife settled in Alicante to support the career of their son, Luca, registered at Celtic Elche, the academy of the first league club Elche.
Recently, in a intervention on the GSP Live showthe Romanian champion was delighted with life in the city in the south-east of Spain:
“Significant minuses in Alicante I don't know how to say. The climate is very good, the people are very OK, we like the most that people enjoy life, they are not interested in war, for example. We talk to Spaniards, we have friends among them. We talk about football, about the weather, about the fiesta, when there is a holiday.
The infrastructure is good, the roads are good, you can easily get from one side to another. Port, esplanade, sea, palm trees, boats. If you give me these and the sun is in the sky, I don't need anything else. We feel very good”.
