The president appointed 12 officers to the ranks of general and admiral

President Karol Nawrocki appointed 12 Polish Army officers to the ranks of general and admiral, the National Security Bureau announced on Thursday. The acts of appointment will be presented to them by the president on May 2 at noon during a ceremony in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace.

At the request of the Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the president appointed 11 Polish Army officers to the rank of general and one to the rank of admiral.
The National Security Bureau reported that the following persons were appointed to the rank of division general: Brig. Gen. Dariusz Lewandowski – commander of the 18th Mechanized Division and Brig. Gen. Michał Strzelecki – commander of the Special Forces Component.
The following were appointed to the rank of brigadier general: commander of the 20th Mechanized Brigade, Col. Dariusz Dróżdż; commander of the 12th Mechanized Brigade, Col. Krzysztof Duda, commander of the 21st Podhale Rifle Brigade, Col. Marcin Dusza; commander of the 25th Air Cavalry Brigade, Col. Piotr Gołos; 1st deputy commander of the Territorial Defense Forces, Col. Jarosław Kowalski; head of the Missile and Artillery Forces Directorate at the General Command of the Armed Forces, Col. Andrzej Kupis; Deputy Commander of Transformation and Training of the Armed Forces, Col. Andrzej Lis; the commander of the 18th Artillery Brigade, Col. Piotr Męczyński, and the deputy head of the P7 Training Directorate at the General Staff of the Polish Army, Col. Robert Polak.
Cdr Przemysław Karaś – deputy commander of the Naval Operations Center, deputy commander of the Maritime Component – was appointed to the rank of rear admiral.
The acts of appointment – the BBN reported – will be presented by the president on Saturday, May 2, at 12.00, during the ceremony in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace.
When asked on Wednesday about the issue of general nominations, the head of the Ministry of National Defense said that their presentation is planned for May 2. Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that in the army, commanders were appointed to positions that are normally general positions, and they are often held by colonels with general positions.
– I would like this to be filled. I rearranged my list. We are ready for May 2. If the president and prime minister accept it, I would like to see (nominations – PAP's note) especially for those who are on the line, command specific brigades, command divisions or are their deputies – Kosiniak-Kamysz said then.
