The attitude within the aggressor country of the Russian Federation towards the illegitimate President Vladimir Putin, against the backdrop of a protracted war and the successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in long-range attacks on Russia’s deep rear, has undergone serious changes. This is stated in the material of the Berlin Carnegie Center, published on April 30.
“We are observing three related processes. The attitude towards Putin is changing. Economic optimism and the everyday patriotism associated with it, rejoicing in survival instead of development, are disappearing. Finally, the impossibility of winning a war that has changed, minimizing Russian advantages is realized,” writes the author of the article.
The entire state machine, he notes, “is still trying to solve the same problem – to hide Putin’s mistake made in 2022, but it’s getting worse and worse.”
“Putin is losing his magical power. Power is still undivided in his hands, but the magic of power is leaving. His real appearance is also emerging. People are increasingly noticing the bustling old man on thin legs with melted muscles under a saggy suit. The pre-war Putin with a bare torso on a black horse is now impossible to imagine. Putin is no longer a superman guarding the interests of ordinary people, he is more afraid of drones and the Internet than a simple person. He is confused and has ceased to inspire confidence even in the representatives of the ruling elite. He is turning from a guarantor into a burden,” the author emphasized.
In his opinion, the “real culprit” for the change in sentiment within the Russian Federation was not the Russian special services or “rebellious” bloggers, but the successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“The Ukrainians' ability to hit targets deep inside Russian territory added to the destruction[верховного лидера Ирана Али] Khamenei in Iran has a particularly sinister meaning. The Ukrainian military is carrying out sensitive attacks on oil plants, storage facilities and other facilities throughout almost all of Russia. Oil exports and military production have not collapsed, but the torches blazing from Ust-Luga to Tuapse create a picture of the inevitability of punishment, which, as we know, is more important than its cruelty,” the material says.
