On April 29, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions against Belarusian enterprises that contribute to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and persons close to the self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.
“Russia has no good will, it needs to be forced to take certain steps that are needed to reduce aggression, and let them then call it their “gestures of good will”. It is necessary that Belarus not be drawn into the war. It is necessary that there are no operations against other European countries,” Zelensky said.
16 individuals and 11 legal entities were subject to sanctions.
Restrictions, in particular, were imposed on Lukashenko’s close ally Viktor Sheiman. The Office of the President of Ukraine indicated that Sheiman was involved in schemes to circumvent sanctions and organize “death squads” that killed opposition politicians and activists. According to the OP, Sheiman also conducts interstate negotiations and establishes shadow relations in business. Sheiman is under sanctions from the US, EU, UK, Switzerland and Canada.
Also subject to sanctions were Lukashenko’s eldest sons Viktor and Dmitry. They are involved in the export of products bypassing sanctions and the supply of dual-use goods.
As for legal entities, sanctions were imposed on enterprises that produce artillery shells and components for them, repair Russian armored vehicles and aircraft (Olsa, Termoplast, Forging Plant of Heavy Stampings, Vitebsk Plant of Electrical Measuring Instruments, NefteKhimDiagnostics and others).
