Trump threatens Germany with military cuts

Washington allows a reduction in military presence in Germany. US President Donald Trump wrote about this in Truth Social.

“The United States is studying and analyzing the possibility of reducing the number of troops in Germany, and a decision on this issue will be made soon,” his post said.

On April 27, the head of the German government, Friedrich Merz, said in an interview with n-tv that the American authorities have no strategy in the military operation against Iran, and Tehran is “humiliating the United States.”

Trump responded by writing that Merz “has no idea what he’s talking about.”

Reuters writes that more than 80 thousand American troops are stationed in Europe. More than a third. of them (about 30 thousand) are stationed in Germany.
