On this day, Lidia Antonovna Sorokina, a primary school teacher, was born.

In 1952, she graduated from the Birobidzhan Pedagogical School and was assigned to the village of Dubovoye as a primary school teacher. At that time there were only two streets in the village – Shkolnaya and Zelenaya. At the end of Shkolnaya Street there was a small school with only 30 children.
In 1954 the school moved to a specially built building. Lydia Antonovna devoted 45 years to raising and teaching rural children.
February 2, 1939
The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) on February 2, 1939 published a mandatory resolution of the Presidium of the Birobidzhan City Council dated February 2, 1939:
“1. In order to protect the population from dog bites, it is obligatory for persons who have dogs to keep them on a leash from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. or to put muzzles on them. All dogs wandering the streets without a muzzle are subject to catching and extermination. Dogs are caught by the department of improvement of the city committee every day at the time established by the city committee.
2. Persons guilty of violating this mandatory resolution are subject to an administrative fine of up to 100 rubles or forced labor for up to 30 days.
3. Monitoring the implementation of this resolution is entrusted to the police authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”

The same newspaper contains information from the instructor-pilot of the Birobidzhan flying club L. Kundukov about the importance of parachuting in wartime and about the development of parachuting in the area:
“Any person with willpower, determination and courage can be a skydiver. Our youth have these qualities. Anyone, if desired, can become a skydiver. Recruitment of skydivers for the Birobidzhan flying club began the other day. The youth of our region are eager to study to become fearless skydivers, they want to master this interesting activity. Some express a desire to study to become sports paratroopers (this requires making 5 jumps), others want to be parachute instructors of the second category, for which they need to have at least 10 jumps from an airplane. Public organizations in Birobidzhan should help young people achieve their goal.”

On this day, the future children's writer Felix Vasilyevich Malyarenko was born in Birobidzhan.
Felix studied at school No. 2 in the city of Birobidzhan, and in 1962 he entered the Suvorov Ussuri School.
Felix Vasilyevich participated in the liquidation of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, for which he was awarded the medal “For saving the dead.”
Despite his military education, Felix Malyarenko became a children's writer. Based on the works of Felix Malyarenko, over 20 board games for children and adults were created, some of his poems were set to music.
On October 28, 2020, Felix Malyarenko passed away; the cause of death was COVID-19.
February 2, 1960
A regional meeting of leading agricultural leaders was held to discuss the results of the development of agriculture in the region in 1959 and the tasks of implementing the decisions of the December Plenum of the CPSU Central Committee to increase the production and sale of agricultural products in 1960. It was noted that in 1959 the region fulfilled ahead of schedule plans for the procurement and sale of agricultural products to the state. At the meeting, commitments were made for 1960. A large group of leading agricultural workers were awarded Certificates of Honor from the regional committee of the CPSU and the regional executive committee.

In Birobidzhan, the Regional Dental Clinic was established on the street. Dzerzhinsky. The initiative to create it was taken by the head of the healthcare department, Garnet Innokentyevich Konovalenkov.
This was done by merging several dental offices that at that time worked at enterprises – at the Dalselmash plant, a garment factory, as well as in regional and children's clinics. For quite a long time it was the only medical institution of this profile.
The regional dental clinic is licensed to provide surgical dental care. The regional dental clinic is a consultative and treatment dental center in the Jewish Autonomous Region.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” on February 2, 1982, in the article by G. Tomich “Diplomas of laureates” wrote that according to the results of the All-Union exhibition-competition (0+) of new consumer goods, organized by the Khabarovsk Regional Executive Committee on the initiative of the newspaper “Izvestia” (16+), the products of Birobidzhan garment workers were awarded a diploma and an honorary badge of laureates.
“At the exhibition-competition, Birobidzhan garment workers demonstrated 28 models, many of which are already being produced at the factory, some are preparing to go into production in 1982. Among the models are products marked with the state Quality Mark, the “N” (new) sign from the “special goods” series. These are women’s coats – winter and demi-season, made of faux fur, youth sets … Diplomas of the All-Union competition for the best production of new goods mass demand was also awarded to the teams of the Birobidzhan hosiery and knitting factories for children's products, and the power transformer plant for the voltage stabilizer CH-315, designed to work with a color TV.”

In the reference and information publication “Administrative-territorial structure of the Jewish Autonomous Region 1858-2003.” (0+) the resolution of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation “On approval of changes in the borders between the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Amur Region” dated February 2, 2007 was posted.
“In accordance with Part 3 of Article 67 and paragraph “a” of Part 1 of Article 102 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, based on the decision of the citizens’ meeting of the village of Zarechnoye, taking into account the decisions of the state authorities of the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Amur Region on the transfer of the village of Zarechnoye and adjacent territories from the Amur Region to the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation
decides:
1. Approve changes in the border between the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Amur Region in accordance with the map and description of the new border line agreed upon between them.
2. This resolution comes into force from the date of its adoption.”
