The 16th round of the Strategic Dialogue between Poland and the United States took place on Thursday in Warsaw. The dialogue was conducted under the chairmanship of Polish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Robert Kupiecki and American Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker. After the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a statement from both sides.

“Poland and the United States discussed opportunities to strengthen their close partnership on energy security, including through the secure supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the region and supporting the implementation of civil nuclear energy projects with the participation of American companies to increase electricity production capacity in Poland. Both sides committed to cooperation to ensure the supply of reliable, affordable and secure energy to Poland and the region. The United States has expressed support for Poland's aspirations to become a regional LNG hub that will replace the historically vulnerable east-west model with a diversified north-south system.” – said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement.

It added that Poland and the United States signed a framework agreement on critical minerals and agreed to cooperate to secure their supply chains.

Poland and the United States discussed the importance of supporting the competitiveness and innovation of the economies in both countries. Poland expressed gratitude to the United States for inviting it to participate in the work of the G-20 group at all levels during the American presidency. In turn, the United States expressed strong support for Poland joining the G20 as a permanent member. Both sides stressed the need to improve regulations that favor economic growth, entrepreneurship and technological progress, the statement said.

As noted, both countries also expressed support for an in-depth dialogue between the government and business that guarantees predictable investment conditions. (PAP)
