Ukraine officially demands that Israel arrest a ship with grain stolen by Russia

The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine sent a package of documents to the Israeli side for the arrest of the Russian vessel Panormitis with stolen Ukrainian grain. Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced this on Telegram on April 29.

As Kravchenko stated, the documents are already in the competent authorities of Israel.

The Ukrainian side asks its Israeli partners to seize the ship and cargo, conduct a search, seize ship and cargo documentation, take grain samples and interrogate crew members.

According to the investigation, Panormitis transports grain, partially exported from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The products were loaded after transshipment from another vessel. Now it is heading to the port of Haifa, the prosecutor general said.

“Investigators have documented facts of the vessel’s illegal entry into closed ports of Ukraine. This is a gross violation of Ukrainian legislation and international maritime law,” Kravchenko added.

According to the department, since the beginning of the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation, the occupiers have illegally exported more than 1.7 million tons of agricultural products with a total value of over 20 billion UAH from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
