The coach of Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Enrique (55 years old), did not hide his emotions after the spectacular confrontation with Bayern Munich in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Champions League. The Parisians won 5-4and the technician admitted that this was the best match in his coaching career.

  • The return from Germany was scheduled for May 6, from 22:00. The winner of this “double” will duel in the grand final of the Champions League with the winner of the duel between Atletico Madrid and Arsenal. The final was scheduled for May 30 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

“It was incredible. I think it was the best match I have ever coached. It had an amazing pace, attempts to play attacking football, the desire of the players to show their qualities. I think everyone enjoyed watching the match. I am happy because we won,” Luis Enrique began his message, from the end of an absolutely amazing game.

Luis Enrique, after PSG took the first step towards the Champions League final: “It was incredible”

“I think I managed to keep my composure for the first two or three goals, but after the fourth and fifth… It was a mistake, because I knew I could score again, but I have to say it was an incredible game. I have been working as a coach for more than fifteen years and I have to admit that it was the most emotional thing I have experienced”, added the technician of the winners.

“We played three times against Kompany's team with Bayern Munich and we knew that at this pace it would be very difficult to control them. I think at the beginning of the game they started better than us, but in the second half we were better than them. Both teams tried to develop their game, which was exciting. It was nice to watch,” said the Spaniard, who continued to praise his students.

“You could see today Michael Olise, Harry Kane, Joshua Kimmich, Pavlovic – all of them, and if you look at our team – Barcola, Joao, Vitinha, Dembélé and Kara – it was incredible. It's important to show that this is the way we have to try to play football.

Well, as a coach you're not happy when you score four goals, but today I'm happy because we won,” concluded Luis Enrique, quoted by sportal.bg.

We showed why we are European champions and why they are one of the strongest teams this season. We managed to inflict only their third defeat of the season. Now we will rejoice, because the return will be another celebration – and we will try to win it
