In the center of Krasnoyarsk, the improvement of another transverse street has begun

Improvement of Kirov Street has begun in Krasnoyarsk. Work is underway in the pedestrian area two blocks from Republic Street to Markovsky from the Kachi embankment.

Now specialists are dismantling the covering and replacing the old curb with a new one made of natural stone. There will also be granite depressions on all descents.

“The equipment operates on one side of the road, the necessary signs are posted in the areas, and wooden flooring is laid for the convenience of pedestrians. Free passage is provided on opposite sides of the sidewalk,” the mayor’s office said.

To modernize the lighting system, underground channels are being laid on the site. All wires and cables will be removed underground, new supports and lamps will be installed.

In the area of ​​the MFC, a parking bay was dismantled, which did not meet road safety requirements. Parking for vehicles near this social institution will be along the roadway; spaces for the disabled will be marked with signs.

In the pedestrian part, after completion of work with the sides, they will begin to lay multi-format paving stones. It will conditionally divide the sidewalk into zones – façade, technical, pedestrian and landscaping. This will automatically separate the flow of pedestrians. Now there are no uniform continuous sidewalks along the street; different sections even have different surfaces.

“Kirova Street is one of the so-called transverse streets of the historical center, where most of the ancient buildings are located. Such streets systematically lead to uniform, modern standards of improvement. After completion of the work, it should become convenient, especially for pedestrian walks. The street has a rather complex terrain, with descents, ascents, and stairs. All objects will be brought to a single style, all areas should become convenient for citizens with limited mobility. This will create a comfortable walking path between two city embankments – the Central and the Kacha River embankment named after Pyotr Pimashkov,” the mayor’s office said.

In addition, the roadway on Kirov will be repaired – two layers of asphalt concrete pavement will be replaced, road sign information will be updated and new markings will be applied.

Let us remind you that the transverse streets of the historical center have been put in order in preparation for the anniversary of Krasnoyarsk for the second season. This year, work will also be carried out on the streets of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat and Surikov. They have already started on the first one, improvement on the second one will begin after archaeological work is carried out, since it is located in a special historical zone.
