The former goalkeeper of the Romanian national team, Bogdan Lobonț (48 years old), was present in the studio of the GSP Live show, where he spoke about Cristi Chivu's journey to Inter Milan and the fight for the title in Serie A, where the Romanian technician's team still needs 3 points to be mathematically the champion of Italy.

  • GSP Live, the show made from the Gazeta Sporturilor studio and moderated by Alexandru Barbu, can be watched from Monday to Friday, from 11:00 a.m., on the Facebook page, the YouTube channel, the TikTok account, as well as on the Gazeta Sporturilor website, GSP.ro

Bogdan Lobonț, about Cristi Chivu's journey: “He proved that he is better than Conte, Allegri, Spalletti, Gasperini”

The former Romanian international analyzed the evolution of Chivu in his first season as coach at senior level, emphasizing the consistency and the results obtained.

“Cristi as a coach is the same as he was as a player in terms of mental consistency. You take it forward because it's your second skin and we all have to enjoy the success he has at Inter.

He is already a better coach than he was as a player, because Inter, at the beginning of the season, left with a third chance at the title. There were Milan, Napoli, Atalanta, who were considered a powerhouse in Italy, there were Roma, Juventus and, along the way, Cristi proved that he is better than Conte, Allegri, Spalletti, Gasperini. It doesn't matter that he didn't beat them head-to-head.”

Bogdan Lobonț: “Championships are won with small teams”

Lobonț also explained the philosophy behind the course of the Inter team, referring to the constancy of the results.

I go back to what Mircea instilled in us as long as I had him as a coach at Rapid: “Boys, championships are won with small teams” and here Chivu proves that he won the championship with small teamsbecause he scored points with teams that the other greats lost points with. With 4 stages to go, he has a huge possibility to win the Scudetto, which is not out of the question.”

Inter, one step away from the title

Inter Milan is one step away from the Serie A title, needing 3 points in the last 4 stages of the championship, after which Cristi Chivu still has to play the final of the Italian Cup against Lazio.
