Ciprian Ciucu, reply for Nicușor Dan: “This is the “split””

Ciprian Ciucu, the first vice-president of the PNL, says that in Romania there is a confrontation between “a villainous system”, interested in keeping its privileges, and “a reformist movement that tries to keep the country afloat”.
The statement of the general mayor of the capital comes after the president Nicușor Dan avoided, on Tuesday evening, to say whether or not he supports the prime minister Ilie Bolojan, saying that “we have a split between two halves of the pro-European direction”.
“We don't have a “split”. We have a vile system that does everything to keep its power, privileges and money at the expense of the Romanians, and we have a reformist movement that tries to keep the country afloat”, wrote Ciprian Ciucu, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, on his Facebook page.
“Where is the moral dilemma, because I don't see it? This is the “split”. “Pro-European” refers to the second category, the one with the water line”, Ciucu added.
PSD and AUR submitted a no-confidence motion against the government led by the liberal Ilie Bolojan. The motion will be voted on on Tuesday, May 5, from 11.00 am.
In his first statements after submitting the motion, President Nicușor Dan stated that he maintains his “equidistance” towards the parties involved in the political crisis in Bucharest.
Asked by reporters, in Dubrovnik, on the sidelines of the Three Seas Initiative Summit, whether he supports Ilie Bolojan or not, Nicușor Dan described the prime minister as “a very serious person”, but avoided giving a concrete answer.
“He is a person I respect, a very serious person, but what we have all noticed for a long time is that we have a split (a division, no) between two halves of the pro-European direction. Regarding this matter, which was translated into an administrative act, a motion of censure, I keep my distance,” said Nicușor Dan.
