Zelensky proposed to the Rada to extend martial law and mobilization until August

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky introduced bills to the Verkhovna Rada on the extension of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine. They were published (as No. 15197 and No. 15198) on the parliament website.

The head of the Ukrainian state proposes to extend the period of martial law and mobilization by 90 days, starting at 5.30 on May 4, 2026. The documents were submitted to the relevant committee on national security, defense and intelligence issues.

If the Rada approves Zelensky's proposal, it will be the 19th vote in parliament on this issue. The last time the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law was on January 14 until May 4.

According to People's Deputy from Golos Yaroslav Zheleznyak, parliament may consider the documents on April 28 or 29. He noted that the extension of martial law and general mobilization will be until August 2.
