Victor Angelescu, president of Rapid, commented the protest of Giulești fans after the lost derby with Dinamoscore 1-3. The fans of Rapid continued their protests against the players and the management, and one of the messages targeted Victor Angeles with: “Victoraș, the bettor from the city”.
Dissatisfied with the team's performance in the play-offs, where Rapid ticked off only 4 points in 6 stages, the supporters accused the players and managers of “counters”.

Appearing on Prima Sport's “Football Show”, Victor Angelescu categorized the fans' messages as “aberrations”. The Giulești official rejected from the start the accusations made by some of the Giulești fans.
However, the shareholder admitted that the blame for the team's disastrous form is a collective one, but blamed the supporters' attacks on accumulated frustration.
“He had no one to turn to, because there was no Victor left in the club. It's very difficult for me to comment on such aberrations, you realize, you have to ask them, they probably mean that I place bets, it's an aberration, what can we talk about?
Last time they compared me to Ceaușescu. These are things for 20-30 years, I know very well some fans who can create a great atmosphere and help the team. If they considered, I am not here to answer such aberrations, we are not talking about such aberrations.
I came, I helped Rapidul since it was in the lower leagues, if we stagnate, naturally it is our fault, including the management, mine, coaches, players, such banners have no place.
