The first qualified teams in the Final 4 of the Champions League in women's handball are known!

Gyor (Hungary) and Metz (France) are the first teams to qualify for the Final 4 of the Women's Handball Champions League. On Sunday, April 26, CSM Bucharest and Gloria Bistrița will try to join them in the “ace box” of the most important European competition.

On Saturday, April 25, two matches of the second leg of the quarter-finals of the Women's Handball Champions League took place. First, Gyor received the visit of Odense, after the Hungarians had won 36-28 in Denmark in the round.

Per Johannson's students also put on a show in the return game and conceded only 8 goals in the first 30 minutes. Gyor's players did not take their foot off the accelerator even in the second half and won 40-25, easily qualifying for the semi-finals of the Champions League with an overall score of 76-53.

The leaders of the winner were Kristina Jorgensen and Dione Housheer with 7 goals each, Kristine Breistol (6 goals) and Bo van Wetering (5 goals).

On the other side, Mie Hojlund and Nikita van der Vliet stood out with 4 goals each and Viola Leuchter and Anna Grundtvig with 3 goals each.

Metz, too strong for Ferencvaros in return

Ferencvaros failed to be the second team from Hungary to qualify for the Final 4 of the Champions League. In the round, at home, the Hungarians settled for a draw against Metz: 31-31.

The second leg was, however, dominated by the French women, who always led. At halftime, Emmanuel Mayonnade's handball players led 18-12. In the second half, Ferencvaros, led by Petra Simon, tried the impossible, but Metz held on and won 31-28 (overall score: 62-59).

Metz's leading scorers were Tyra Axner (8 goals), Sarah Bouktit (7 goals) and Chloe Valentini (6 goals). On the other hand, Petra Simon's 11 goals were not enough.
