Ukrainian presenter Solomiya Vitvitskaya will soon become a mother – the 45-year-old celebrity announced this on April 26 on Instagram.
The presenter starred in the video with her fiancé, Ukrainian soldier Alexei Sitailo – he demonstrated the results of the ultrasound, and Vitvitskaya showed a noticeably rounded belly.
She has not yet announced the gender of the unborn child or the likely date of birth.
For Vitvitskaya’s colleagues and friends, the news seemed to come as a surprise.
“God! Congratulations,” wrote Marichka Padalko.
“The best news that can ever be,” commented singer Natalka Karpa.
Who is the father of the child
In February 2024, Vitvitskaya said that she was in a relationship with Sitailo. Before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, he was the chairman of the Seredino-Budsky district court of the Sumy region, and in March 2022 he volunteered for the military registration and enlistment office and is now defending Ukraine at the front.
On February 14, 2025, Sitailo proposed to Vitvitskaya while on vacation in the Carpathians.
“We knew each other before the war, but very superficially. We saw each other literally twice – at the birthdays of our mutual friends,” Vitvitskaya admitted in the summer of 2025. “I remember, a few months after the start of the full-scale invasion, Alexey wrote to me, asking for help for his unit. When I received the message, at first I didn’t immediately understand who was writing to me, because it was not the name that was displayed, but the nickname – Kapitoshka. Moreover, we had not seen each other for several years. I coordinated it with volunteers, I helped myself. And so our communication began. We talked for a long time, I don’t remember what topics, but these conversations distracted both of us a little from the realities of the war.”
According to the presenter, after her friend at that time left for the east, she herself often went there on volunteer missions.
“So we met there too. We were interested in each other – I remember that we seemed to be on the same wavelength,” explained Vitvitskaya.
She noted that it was Alexei who initiated the romantic relationship.
“It seems to me that Alexey took the first step, because I didn’t have any romantic thoughts about him. And also because of my upbringing, I would never take the first step, because I think that a man should take the initiative,” she admitted then.
The presenter added that they have not yet made a final decision on the future wedding.
“What will the wedding be like, when will it happen? I think everything will work out by itself. We haven’t chosen the month and date yet,” she assured a year ago.
