A family of four and two pensioners are believed to have gone missing in Karelia. As Mash learned, they stopped communicating after the dam of the White Sea-Baltic Canal broke.
The dam was washed away due to a break in the temporary dam at the BBK. According to eyewitnesses, the flow of water swept away it and the houses of the Baltiysky dacha cooperative, which stood near the riverbed. The head of the republic said that more than a hundred rescuers were working at the scene of the accident. The authorities also put emergency medicine and air ambulance forces on alert.
UPD. Preliminarily, 9 people were injured.
