Prime Minister Bolojan, message after the incident in Galati: “I condemn without reservation this serious violation of Romanian airspace”

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan reacted after a Russian-made drone fell in Galati county and damaged a household, stating that the necessary measures were taken immediately and that the authorities acted in a coordinated manner to manage the situation.

“Last night, a Russian-made drone fell in Galati and affected a household. Following the incident, we discussed with all decision-makers to take the necessary measures immediately. The priority of the Romanian Government remains the protection and safety of citizens. Diplomatic measures were also ordered, including informing partners and allies.” the prime minister sent on Facebook.
Bolojan described the incident as a serious violation of airspace and called on Moscow to stop such actions.
“The violation, once again, of the Romanian airspace by Russia is an irresponsible act and a serious violation of international law. I condemn it without reservation and firmly ask Russia to stop such actions immediately“, Ilie Bolojan also specified.
He emphasized that such incidents are related to the war in Ukraine and generate security risks for Romania and for the states on the Eastern Flank.

Finally, Ilie Bolojan stated that the Government will continue to act to strengthen national security.

The defense of national interests always requires coordinated and responsible action.” he also wrote.
