More than 15 kilograms of silver, in the form of granules, discovered at the border in a minibus of a Ukrainian citizen
A joint team made up of border police and customs inspectors discovered a significant amount of silver at the Halmeu Border Crossing Point, Satu Mare County, following a check on a minibus traveling on the Ukraine-Romania-Czech route.

“In the vehicle driven by a 41-year-old Ukrainian citizen, five plastic bags containing a white metal in the form of granules, likely to be silver, were found hidden and undeclared. The total amount discovered is 15,386 kg, and the estimated value exceeds 155,000 lei”the statement of the Border Police states.

According to the authorities, the goods were not accompanied by supporting documents, which is why the entire quantity was lifted for further investigations.
In the case, a criminal case was drawn up for the crime of smuggling, and the driver is being investigated by the authorities.
