A section of asphalt on Unirii Boulevard in the center of Slobozia municipality suddenly broke on Saturday, April 25. The appearance of the crater required the emergency intervention of the authorities to secure the area and divert traffic.

Mayor Alexandru Potor explained the cause of the crater:
“Today there was an incident on Unirii Boulevard in Slobozia: a portion of the asphalt collapsed. The most likely cause is a fault in the sewage systemwhich led to the washing away of the soil and ballast infrastructure that supports the roadway. Thank you to the fire crews who intervened first to avoid the dangers!”.
The Local Police and the National Police organized the traffic to isolate the area and prevent possible incidents, the mayor also stated.

“The Directorate of Public Domain Administration and the Urban water operator are currently evaluating the necessary measures for urgent repairs. Please drive carefully in the affected area and avoid the perimeter if possible.” Alexandru Potor sent.
