Agora's subsidiaries are suing the State Treasury for nearly PLN 135 million

Agora's subsidiaries filed a lawsuit for payment of PLN 134.7 million against the State Treasury along with interest for the delay from March 27, 2026 for the Republic of Poland's failure to timely implement the Directive of the European Parliament and the EU Council on copyright in the digital market – Agora announced in a press release.

As stated, the compensation claim of the companies (Wyborcza, Gazeta.pl, Agora Radio Group and Eurozet) covers lost profits in the form of remuneration that the companies could have obtained from information society service providers for the use of their press publications during the period of delay in transposition of the directive.

The implementation of the directive on copyright and related rights in the digital single market was to take place between June 8, 2021 and September 19, 2024. (PAP Biznes)
