An extended meeting of the Coordination Council of branches of the Russian Union of Entrepreneurs and Industrialists (RSPP) in the Siberian Federal District was held in Novosibirsk. It discussed current issues of industrial cooperation in business.
Before the meeting, the RSPP, the government of the Novosibirsk region and the Coordination Council entered into a tripartite cooperation agreement. The document was signed by the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region, Andrei Travnikov, and the Chairman of the Coordination Council, First Vice-President and Head of the Unit for Interaction with the Authorities of Norilsk Nickel, Nikolai Utkin.
“Implementation of the agreement involves specific actions: from the exchange of experience between enterprises in Novosibirsk and Norilsk to participation in tenders and conclusion of contracts. Our goal is for businesses to see the planning horizon and understand that tomorrow they will have orders,” commented Nikolai Utkin.
At the meeting, Norilsk Nickel presented its experience in developing industrial cooperation in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Vice President – Director of the Krasnoyarsk representative office of the company Sergei Tkachenko said that the work has been going on since 2010. Now this is a full-fledged mechanism of economic interaction between the regional government, the Polar Branch of Norilsk Nickel and representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.
“The effect of cooperation is complex, beneficial to all parties in the process. For the Krasnoyarsk Territory, this means an increase in the tax base, additional jobs, utilization of local enterprises and, as a result, development of the territory. In turn, small and medium-sized businesses, working with a large customer, receive orders that allow them to plan development for years to come, raise quality standards and expand their production capacity. For Norilsk Nickel, this is a guarantee of fulfillment of the production program and an opportunity to reduce logistics costs. In addition, joint work allows us to build up unique competencies, which works to strengthen the technological sovereignty of the entire country,” emphasized Sergei Tkachenko.
In 2025, the company’s volume of purchases of material and technical resources, works and services from regional suppliers was estimated at 42.2 billion rubles, and over the past five years the total turnover has exceeded a quarter of a trillion rubles. Norilsk Nickel strives to reduce administrative barriers and work with contractors on a one-stop-shop basis.
According to Sergei Tkachenko, the company’s needs for resources and services are colossal. He named projects to increase the operational reliability of industrial assets in the Norilsk industrial region, the development of logistics assets, including the company's fleet, and the renovation of Norilsk – a strategic priority in the social sphere – as growth points. Currently, in the northern city, Norilsk Nickel is building new housing and a clinic for 1,000 visits per shift in the Talnakh area, and the Polar State University is being renovated. Another large-scale project that requires the involvement of contractors is the renovation of Norilsk airport.
