Man from Neamt, fatally shot in an exchange of fire with SAS fighters. The police had come to enforce three restraining orders

A 37-year-old man from the town of Hangu, Neamț county, accused of threatening his family, was fatally shot on Thursday evening by the fighters of the Special Actions Service, after he opened fire on them, announces IPJ Neamț, quoted by the local website Neamț365.
According to IPJ Neamț, on Thursday evening, at 9:14 p.m., policemen from the Bicaz Rural Police Department were alerted, by calling 112, by a 58-year-old woman from Hangu, who complained that her son-in-law threatened both her and her husband and daughter, if his wife and three minor children did not return to their home.
“The risk assessment form was completed, resulting in imminent risk, and 3 provisional protection orders were issued. At the same time, following the checks carried out by the police, it was found that the man is a legal holder of hunting weapons”, according to IPJ Neamț.
Thus, the police, together with fighters from the SAS Neamț, intervened in the town of Hangu, at the man's building, “to inform him of the provisions of the provisional protection orders”:
The police entered the courtyard of the man's house. When they asked him to open the door, the man fired shots at the intervention forces.
“When they requested the opening of the building's door, along with the legal summons, the 37-year-old man allegedly fired at the Neamt SAS fighters. Considering the imminent danger, the fighters fired at the man, and he was injured,” according to the police.
Specialist medical crews were called to the scene, but the man was declared dead.
The IPJ says it intervened according to the law
At the same time, IPJ Neamț conveyed that “the police intervened in accordance with the law, respecting the conditions regarding the use of weapons”.
“They clearly and repeatedly declined their capacity, carried out the legal summons and used the weapon only when the person did not respond to the summons and put their lives in imminent danger by firing at them with the hunting weapon,” stated the police.
What weapons did the police find at the man's home?
According to IPJ Neamț, the weapons owned by the suspect are the 308 caliber carbine (7.62×51) and the 12 gauge hunting rifle, “weapons that were loaded and ready at the time the police announced the intention to break into the building”.
“Immediately after the immobilization of the person, finding that his bodily injury resulted, the police requested urgent medical assistance and notified the prosecutor of the competent prosecutor's office”, IPJ Neamț also transmitted.
