In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a court took into custody a veterinarian and a farmer-entrepreneur in a case of bribes for fictitious examinations of meat contaminated with leukemia. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.
It has been previously established that the veterinarian of the Kansky Department of Veterinary Medicine systematically received bribes for issuing positive conclusions of veterinary and sanitary examination of meat from the local head of the peasant farm.
At the same time, meat and other products did not meet safety requirements, since some of the animals were sick with leukemia. Products that posed a direct threat to human health were sold to consumers in the Kansky District and neighboring territories.
“From 2023 to 2025, the head of the peasant farm, through an intermediary, gave the veterinarian a bribe in the amount of at least 252 thousand rubles. The money was intended for conducting examinations of products and raw materials that were transported without accompanying documents and in violation of veterinary legislation. A criminal case was opened against the veterinarian for receiving a bribe (Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and against the head of a peasant farm for giving a bribe (clause “b” of Part 4 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The maximum punishment under these articles is up to 12 years in prison,” the supervisory agency said.
