George Simion responds to Nicușor Dan, after the president said that he was “below any level of dialogue”: “In a state of law, he would have been suspended the next day”

George Simion responded to Nicușor Dan, after the head of state said that the AUR president is “below any level of dialogue”, referring to Simion's statement in which the head of state was labeled as “a paraplegic individual”. In response, the AUR leader claims that the president's refusal to dialogue with all parliamentary parties in the context of the government crisis would have attracted his suspension “in a civilized democracy”.
Nicusor Dan referred to his labeling as “a paraplegic individual” as being “below any level of dialogue”.
“The last statement is below any level of dialogue. We, the politicians, represent some categories of people. These people are ashamed when their representative uses such words. You use such words and insults when you have no arguments”, said Nicușor Dan, in the press conference held after the European Council meeting on Friday.
“He exceeded his own performance”
Invited by HotNews to comment on President Dan's claims, George Simion responded in a Facebook Live:
“We are below any level of dialogue or he who refuses democracy, parliamentarism and the Constitution which clearly says that any political party can nominate a prime minister, and if there is a majority, it is obliged to designate him?” said the AUR president.
In a consolidated democracy, in a state of law, Nicușor Dan was suspended the next day for such a statement
George Simion, President of AUR
Simion claims that Nicușor Dan's statements regarding the fact that he will refuse to appoint a prime minister supported by a PSD-AUR coalition are “worrying”.
“Today he exceeded his own performance and said that he will not be able to appoint a prime minister who has the support of the AUR parliamentarians in Parliament (…) What Nicușor did tonight shows that there will be elections in vain, early or on time, because there will no longer be respect for the will of the people. Because he is in Cotroceni, illegitimate, and he decides who can be part of a government and who cannot, and who can support a government and who cannot”, concluded George Simion.
His statements on this subject can be watched in the clip below, from minute 32:35:
The offensive speech from Târgu Mureș
This week, in a speech given in Târgu Mureș on the topic of the situation at the Azomureș compound, George Simion used offensive language towards the head of state, whom he called “paraplegic”.
“Unfortunately, Romania is not governed at the moment. We have an individual in Cotroceni, a paraplegic, who, instead of worrying about the Azomureş crisis, has a problem with the AUR and his only concern is that the AUR should not be called for consultations and that the AUR should not discuss with the other parties. I promise I will deal with him tomorrow, in a public reaction”, said the AUR leader.
The Save Romania Union announces the submission of an official notification to the National Council for Combating Discrimination (CNCD), as a result of the statements made by the AUR leader.
According to USR, the notification was made by Crina Steliana Ţugui (46 years old), USR member and person with locomotor disabilities.
