The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced the three-week extension of the truce between Israel and Lebanon, after hosting a meeting at the White House between representatives of the two states.
The announcement was made by the American leader on the Truth Social platform, shortly after the talks held in the Oval Office, which were attended by Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, US Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa, as well as Israeli and Lebanese officials.
“The President of the United States, DONALD J. TRUMP, Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, and Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa, met today in the Oval Office with senior representatives of Israel and Lebanon.
The meeting went very well! The United States will work with Lebanon to help protect itself from Hezbollah. The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be extended by THREE WEEKS”, he relayed.

Donald Trump has hinted that he is trying to turn the current temporary deal into a comprehensive agreement between the two countries, which have been officially at war since 1948.
Later, the American leader returned to the same message and again emphasized the intention to continue the diplomatic dialogue.
