The American leader states that Tehran is facing a lack of liquidity, massive financial losses and difficulties in paying military and public order structures, according to News.ro.
Trump claims that the authorities in Tehran would request the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic area at the center of regional tensions.
“Iran is on the brink of financial collapse! The country demands the immediate opening of the Strait of Hormuz and is severely cash-strapped! It's losing $500 million a day. The military and police are complaining about not being paid. Help!”the president of the United States wrote on his Truth Social network.
The statements come in the context in which the American president announced, on Tuesday evening, the extension of the ceasefire in Iran, noting that the decision was also taken at the request of Pakistan.
The leader of the White House specified that the naval blockade imposed on Iran will remain in force, and the military will remain on high alert.
At the same time, the Pentagon is still considering options for resuming the bombing campaign, suspended two weeks ago following a ceasefire brokered by Pakistan
Officially, however, the deadline for the cease-fire between the United States and Iran expires on Wednesday, April 22.
