The Kansk City Court considered the claim of a local resident against her neighbor, who beat her over a birch tree.

The joint press service of the courts of the Krasnoyarsk Territory explained that in October 2025 in Kansk, a conflict occurred between two neighbors over a birch tree. The women argued and could not decide whose birch tree grew on the border of their land plots, and swept away the leaves that had fallen from the tree into each other’s home areas. As a result, the quarrel escalated into assault. One of the women punched the other in the left eye area and also on the cheek, tearing the skin of her face with her nails.

By a decision of the magistrate, the woman was found guilty of committing an administrative offense under Art. 6.1.1 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (beatings). She was given an administrative fine of 5,000 rubles.

The victim indicated in her statement of claim that after the incident she developed a head tremor, fear, memory deterioration, and confusion. She also became afraid to be alone at home, to go outside and into the yard. After seeking medical help, she was prescribed sedatives, vitamins, and drugs to lower blood pressure and improve blood circulation in the brain. In addition, she paid 2,000 rubles for an examination by a neurologist at a medical center.

“The court made a decision by which compensation for moral damage of 15,000 rubles, material damage of 4,138.88 rubles, and legal expenses in the amount of 24,700 rubles were recovered from the perpetrator,” the court clarified.

The court decision did not enter into legal force.
