American commandos pulled Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores from their bedroom during a night operation that ended with their capture, CNN reported on Saturday, citing two anonymous sources.

Maduro and Flores were surprised while sleeping in the middle of the night, these sources said.
One US official said that no US soldiers were killed in the operation, carried out by the elite Delta Force special forces unit.
Sources previously reported to CBS News that the operation was carried out by Delta Force soldiers. Delta Force is a unit responsible for, among others: for the 2019 mission that resulted in the death of the then leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Approximately At 2 a.m. local time (7 a.m. in Poland) on Saturday, explosions and low-flying planes were heard in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas. The Venezuelan government accused the US of attacking targets in Caracas and other cities in the country.
A few hours later, US President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social social networking site that Maduro and his wife had been captured and taken out of the country in a successful American operation. (PAP)
