The Victory Train will go on a festive tour of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The train, formed as part of a special project of KrasRussian Railways dedicated to the Great Victory, will travel along the festive route.

It will make stops in 5 cities in the region:

  • April 23: 10:00 – Ilansky, 17:00 – Kansk;
  • April 29: 10:00 – Nazarovo, 17:00 – Achinsk;
  • May 4: 12:00 — Krasnoyarsk.

The Victory Train is a traveling historical exhibition consisting of platforms with military equipment, a heated carriage and a stage car for the propaganda team’s artists.

It is driven by a steam locomotive – a symbol of the participation of railway workers in the Great Patriotic War. During the war years, the workers of the Krasnoyarsk Railway prepared and sent 139 steam locomotives to the front – almost half of the entire locomotive fleet. 56 locomotive crews – drivers and assistants – worked on front-line routes.

Steam locomotives-monuments are installed at 8 stations of the Krasnoyarsk Railway. One of them is Ilanskaya, where the Victory Train will make its first stop.

At each station there will be a two-hour historical reconstruction of the arrival of the train with the victorious soldiers in May 1945. The event consists of two parts. During the first hour there is a meeting of the train and a concert of the propaganda team, the second hour is an introduction to the history of military equipment.

To recreate the atmosphere of that time, railway workers placed on the platforms samples of Red Army weapons – the legendary shock weapons of turning-point battles: long-range howitzers, anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns. During the stop, volunteers will talk about these rare exhibits, as well as the role of the Krasnoyarsk Railway in the Great Patriotic War.

Theatrical performances of the front-line propaganda brigade will take place on a special stage – a railway platform, from which favorite songs of the war years will be performed. The artists will also perform the choreographic composition “Cranes,” dedicated to the soldiers who did not return from the front.

The goal of the project is to preserve the history of the feat of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War and a tribute to everyone who defended our Motherland from fascism, including railway workers who took part in battles and home front workers.
