A discussion of a new model of work based on lean production technologies took place at the Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Children's Hospital No. 4. There, after changing the principles of organizing work with patients, planned hospitalization, surgery and discharge of children in the ENT hospital takes place within 24 hours, and previously they were in the hospital for several days. In addition, tothe number of patients treated increased from 2.9 thousand to almost 4.2 thousand per year, andThe share of high-tech medical care among all operations increased from 30% to 60%. It was also possible to reduce the waiting list for planned hospitalization from 8 months to 2, and the average time of hospital stay decreased from 5 days to just over 3 days.

Mikhail Kotyukov noted that now almost 50% of the region’s medical organizations are involved in increasing labor productivity within the framework of the national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy.” The introduction of lean manufacturing technologies makes it possible to optimize work processes, create more comfortable conditions for patients and staff, and eliminate all types of losses, primarily associated with waiting for services.

“It would seem that social institutions are not factories? But the president set a task for everyone so that all social sector institutions by 2030 would be covered by measures to increase productivity. It is not only important for enterprises to use resources efficiently, optimize work processes and improve quality. This is no less important for recipients of government services, which is why we are introducing advanced technologies in the social sphere. The example of Krasnoyarsk Interdistrict Children’s Hospital No. 4 shows that the queue for medical care can be shortened simply by properly setting up the work of the institution and its team.”

The head of the region especially emphasized that educational institutions that train future doctors and paramedics should work closely with clinics and hospitals where lean manufacturing technologies have been most effectively implemented, so that young specialists initially get used to working according to the new model.
