The play-offs reached the halfway mark at the end of last week, and the experts recalculated the chances of winning the championship. Universitatea Craiova and U Cluj are shoulder to shoulder in first place, tied, and now seen as the only teams in the fight for the title.
The statisticians at Football Meets Data have re-analyzed the odds after the first 5 stages have finished and now believe that only the top two can get their hands on the trophy.
Even if the bookmakers believe that and CFR Cluj would still have an important chance, the statisticians credit the team from Gruia with only a 3% chance of the title.
What are the chances of winning the Superliga title?
After Craiova won with Rapid, score 1-0, on home ground, the Oltenians returned to the first position. Chances of winning the championship increased by 22% compared to the last stage, when they lost miserably at U Cluj, score 0-4.
On the other side, U Cluj lost with Dinamo, in Bucharest, score 1-2, so the chances for the title decreased by 23% compared to the last round, when they clearly beat Craiova at home.
