Robert Negoiță, the social democratic mayor of Sector 3, posted a video message on Facebook in which he defends Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, who in his opinion was effective in governing at least from the point of view of some things that happened.
“Friends, colleagues, people on the street keep asking me what is happening with the Government, with Mr. Bolojan. It doesn't matter if we like it or not. The important thing is that some reforms have happened”Negoiță says in the message.
He emphasized that one of the most important directions is the administrative reform, which he considers essential for reducing expenses and making the public apparatus more efficient.
“We like it, we don't like Bolojan, the important thing is that some reforms have happened so far. The administrative reform, very important. That we reduce this large apparatus that consumes resources and generates big problems with clients, misfortunes, Rubedenians. We can't help but appreciate the good things. I have the feeling that this time hasn't passed in vain. Some things have happened”mentioned the mayor of Sector 3.
Negoiță also spoke about the situation of state companies and that the measures announced by the Government should be supported.
“I understood that there are chances that there is a little cleanliness in these state-owned companies that generate losses every year and are also all run by political clients. I think it would deserve a little support at least for this issue, to do these things, to solve them with reforms, even if we know… any reform like this also generates suffering in certain areas, but they are absolutely necessary. And, from my point of view, at least for this with the companies and the administrative reform, all the support, because I believe that this is the right direction and that is why we are public persons, that we must express ourselves and say our point of view“, says Robert Negoiţă.
The mayor of Sector 3 stated that his position is an assumed one and that he is aware of the fact that it could generate reactions within the party or in the public space. However, he believes that the role of a public figure is to speak his mind when he thinks the direction is right.
“I know it's not a very comfortable position, maybe it bothers some, but that's exactly how I think. This is my position”Negoiță concluded.
Robert Negoiță is not the only social democrat who criticized the party's decision to withdraw political support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
The PSD mayor of Buzău, Constantin Toma, chose to go against the trend in his own party, in a moment of internal political tension, and voted to maintain the political support given to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
PSD decided to withdraw political support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, during an internal meeting of the formation. Approximately 5,000 members participated in the vote, and the decision was adopted with a percentage of 97.7% in favor of the withdrawal of political support.
PSD leaders motivated this position by dissatisfaction expressed among mayors and party members, who claim that the current direction of the government no longer reflects the expectations of the formation.
