- The 2nd semi-final of the Romanian Betano Cup is scheduled for Thursday, from 20:30, between Dinamo and Craiova University.
Cristiano Bergodi spoke about the match in Mioveni, about the preferences regarding the opponent in the final, but also about what is to come for the “red caps”, including the upcoming derby with CFR Cluj from Gruia.
Cristiano Bergodi reacted after FC Argeș – U Cluj
“I was there in 2023, with Sepsi, and I have a beautiful memory. It's a beautiful goal to play the Romanian Cup final. I'm happy for the group, for the boys, for the management, for the supporters who came here in large numbers. I'm happy after experiencing this emotion.
It's nobody's fault for the first half. They came over us and pressed high. We were playing maybe too short, almost and they came and took us man to man and we had to play behind them. They are very aggressive. They are good.
The second half changed. Whoever came off the bench was good, but those on the pitch also gave more, we equalized and then we won like that. There is a lottery. We are happy.
A meeting was held before the penalties. We gave freedom to the players to choose. I put Trică in because he shoots well, I saw him in training. It turned out well. Those from FC Argeș also shot well, but the last one missed. I am very glad.
It doesn't matter who we meet in the final. We are playing a final and it is already a big thing. Dinamo and Universitatea Craiova are good teams. We have tough matches ahead in the play-offs”, said Cristiano Bergodi on “Digi Sport Special”.
I don't know how I will be received in Gruia. We will see. I was also a coach there, I performed. I don't hold a grudge. It was just a moment of tension in the same derby. It's all over, from my point of view. It's no problem.
I don't know if we can go all the way. It is important that we reached the final. In the championship many teams have chances. The University of Craiova is the best. We try to play as well as we can and do our job. The players were a waste of energy today… I hope we are physically fit for Saturday's game. It was hard, but it is. It's not a problem. We have an extra day of rest and we will meet again in Gruia.
