The Angarsk maniac Mikhail Popkov, on the account of which 85 killed women, appointed a new lawyer – a girl.
The new episode became known this year. In 2011, Popkov, who had drunk, was driving a bicycle past the park for the Contemporary Palace of Culture home after repairing the apartment. In the backpack there is an ax and acetone. There he quarreled with a drunken woman, hit her and set her down. The victim was 36 years old, she worked as a cleaner at school, had no family. He confessed only now: “It's hard to live with it.”
Now Popkov is serving life-lifelong in a single chamber of the Mordovian IK-6. Does exercises, sews for the needs of his, listens to the radio, reads detectives. The family does not communicate with him – the grandson is growing, so at their request he stopped talking with journalists and “develop the cult of personality.”
With the new defender, the communication is tense: the convict is in distrust of women. He was previously represented by a man.
