Bayern mathematically won their 35th German championship title on Sunday. He is 15 points ahead with 4 stages before the final whistle of the season.
The celebration after the final whistle of the match with VfB Stuttgart (4-2) was for Bayern the shortest in history. In the stands, the bosses clinked a glass of champagne or beer, the players came in front of the fans wearing the champions shirts. In total, (only) 28 minutes!
The traditional beer bath? The trophy? They are left for the last leg, the 34th, when Bayern meet FC Koln at the Allianz Arena. From now on, the focus is on the semi-final of the German Cup, with Bayer Leverkusen (April 22), and the duel with PSG in the penultimate act of the Champions League (April 28 / May 6).
Vincent Kompany dixit: “Every trophy is the first”
Even so, tabloid Bild didn't waste the moment and revealed the locker room motto with which coach Vincent Kompany motivated his players for a second consecutive title. If depending on the behavior of the team at one point or another of the season he used to post phrases like “We have to keep a clean sheet”, “A match lasts 90 minutes” or “The next match is the hardest” in the dressing room, in 2025 – 2026 he turned to only one: “Every trophy is the first!”.
The Belgian technician explained in an intervention on the DAZN station: “We always go forward, we never stop. And when you win titles, you have to celebrate.” He came to the interview in a white T-shirt with a pooping parrot printed on the chest, just like his players wore after the title initialing.
The porcelain parrot will be the star of this year's parties
The story behind it? After last year's title, Bayern's stars celebrated at the Kaefer restaurant in Munich, and at the end of the party they “arrested” the local mascot, a porcelain cockatiel. This became the talisman of the Bavarians and they also printed it on their shirts.
Midfielder Leon Goretzka promised that the porcelain parrot would be brought out again “after we win the titles of the season. He will celebrate them with us, like last year.” Until then, fans can buy t-shirts with the new mascot in the souvenir shops. Price: 30 euros each.
