The Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Krasnoyarsk Territory reminded residents of the beneficial properties of pears and explained why this fruit should be included in the diet more often.
According to experts, pear is not just a seasonal product, but a real natural multi-complex. It contains vitamins A, C, E, K, PP and group B, as well as important microelements: potassium, calcium, iron, iodine, phosphorus and zinc. This set is complemented by essential oils, flavonoids and phytoncides, which support the immune system.
Despite its pronounced sweet taste, pears are not high in calories – only about 40 kcal per 100 grams. The feeling of sweetness, experts note, is associated with a low acid content, so the fruit can be included in the diet menu.
Pears have a beneficial effect on the functioning of the body. The high potassium content supports cardiovascular health, helps with insomnia and helps lower cholesterol. Organic acids improve digestion, stimulate metabolism and the functioning of the liver and kidneys.
Separately, the department notes the benefits of processed pears. Compotes and decoctions, especially from dried fruits, contain tannins – substances with an astringent effect, which can be useful for intestinal disorders, including in children. These drinks are also recommended for inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract.
In addition, the essential oils contained in pears have anti-inflammatory properties and help strengthen the body's defenses.
Experts add that pears are widely used in cooking. Compotes, jams, jams, candied fruits are prepared from fruits, and some varieties are even used for pickling.
